Our BoD consist of individuals with diverse backgrounds utilizing their experience and talents to help make MSA reach its highest potential.
Tim Perkins ChairmanTim Perkins has worked in afterschool programs for the Salt Lake City School District for almost 20 year. Tim has run successful summer and afterschool programs in both fee based and Title 1 school areas where marginalized communities often have reduced access to out-of-school time care. He also coordinates the athletics program for middle schools in the district. Tim is a certified teacher who graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Exercise Sport Science and has coached football for grades nine to twelve. Tim's hobbies include reading, cooking and traveling.

Michelle Kim Vice ChairMichelle Kim graduated from Utah State University with her Master's degree in Psychology and School Counseling. Michelle is an experienced school counselor who has worked in both Elementary and Junior High school for over 4 years. She has worked with children and youth in many settings including teaching at a preschool, teaching students with special behavioral needs, and counseling at-risk-youth in a Juvenile Detention center. Michelle has also served as an Assistant Case Manager at the Christmas Box House, where she worked directly with children in need. She has a passion for helping students achieve their goals and develop a strong sense of self-worth. In her free time, Michelle enjoys hiking, camping, and loves to curl up in a blanket while reading a good Fantasy, Sci-Fi, or Mystery novel. Michelle is passionate about the programs within My Summit Adventures and believes that they have and will continue to enrich the lives of all those who become involved in it and hopes to see the programs continue to grow and flourish.

Alex Roberts TreasurerAlex Roberts has been with Wadsworth Development Group and currently acts as the Controller. He works closely with the accounting staff to manage the day-to-day operations of the companies portfolio. Alex began his career in the commercial real estate industry shortly after obtaining his bachelor's degree from Utah Valley University and has since processed transactions in a variety of sectors including retail, office, hospitality, industrial, and multi-family. Alex received an MBA with an emphasis in accounting from Utah Valley University in 2016. Alex enjoys learning new things by reading, taking courses and being involved in the community. He and his wife have two young children. In Alex's spare time you will find him playing with his children, reading them stories and vacationing with his family. Alex is excited to be apart of the My Summit Adventures Board and looks to strengthening MSA's financial health.

Mike De La Torre SecretaryMike De La Torre is a Marketing Manager who enjoys working collaboratively with people to achieve common goals. Mike’s work experience has primarily been in management, coaching, product, and marketing. After his bachelor’s degrees, he spent a year as an assistant language teacher in France. He worked in three elementary schools and enjoyed working with teachers and seeing the students’ progress throughout the year. He saw firsthand the positive impact educators can have on children’s lives. Mike has a master’s degree from the University of Utah in International Affairs and Global Enterprise. Outside of working, studying, and volunteering, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, learning new things, traveling, and playing sports. He is the father of two and has two miniature pinschers who all keep him and his wife on their toes.

Roxanna Latimer- Shaw Board MemberRoxanna Latimer-Shaw is a lifelong Utah resident. She currently works as a clinical pharmacy technician in a local Neurology clinic and recently retired from Smith's pharmacy after 30 years. She is happily married with 5 children and 3 grandchildren. Currently 3 of her children attend Summit Academy schools, two of which attended My Summit Adventures preschool for two years and have been enrolled in the summer camp program. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, traveling, hiking, going to the movies and eating great food.
